Starting a Study Group
There are some materials that we recommend in order to start a Way of the Heart Study Group. These can be purchased as a “starter kit”, or if you already have some items, you can just purchase those you need. However, the complete kit contains the following:
All the above items are available in The Way of the Heart Online Store, and clicking on the links above will take you to the appropriate section for purchasing. We recommend each participant invest in a bound Way of the Heart workbook for his or her own use and study. These cost A$49.50 (plus p&p) and can be ordered on-line via this website.
To begin the Study Group Registration process, please take some time to fill out our Registration Form here. Our Study Group Co-ordinator will then add your contact details to this website.
Note for Study Group Leaders
To reimburse your ongoing expenses expect to make a nominal charge per meeting of between $5 and $10 per person.
Once registered, we will add your group to the online register for Study Groups here on this website, and include you in Way of the Heart/Family of the Heart promotions. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our Study Groups Co-ordinator, Suzanne - contact info for Suzanne is here
The Way of the Heart is only the firste in a trilogy of teachings, and is followed by Way of Transformation, and Way of Knowing. If you ever feel you have exhausted the potential and self-enquiry offered by Way of the Heart, the choice is yours to continue your journey through these other two teachings and then move deeper into Jayem/Jeshua's other spiritual guidance - there are many support products that will enhance your Study Group which are amoung the Pathway Products.
Study Group Meeting Format
The meetings generally follow a defined format, although from time to time it may be good to do something completely different! Try having your meetings occasionally on a beach, or perhaps meet up at a café somewhere. Changing the environment and structure from time to time can help to ensure your group stays connected and in celebration of life and each other.
Following brief introductions, the meeting is opened. Centre the energy in the group: hold hands, close eyes, quiet minds, focus. As you open your eyes, make eye contact with each of the members in the circle before releasing hands. The meeting is commenced with a prayer, meditation and/or a reading from an appropriate book. The main body of the work to be done will centre around the Way of the Heart teachings of Jeshua ben Joseph. Each chapter of the workbooks presents a theme of experience, pertinent to life and our journey. The purpose of coming together is to more fully explore these teachings, from a wide cross section contributing enlightenment on a specialized subject.Meetings are generally about 2 hours in duration, although the group is free to define the format that best suits everyone.
Study Group Guidelines
The following guidelines are designed to help give your group clear direction, commitment and boundaries. It is suggested you discuss these with your group from time to time to ensure they are relevant and that each person understands them (particularly new people joining the group).
Be clear about the purpose for the group: to create an environment in which to practice unconditional love and mutual support; to assist each other in connecting to our feelings and reclaiming our power. To expand our level of trust in ourselves, in each other, and in the power of our Oneness.
Make the commitment to refrain from advice giving during the meeting. This is a most significant guideline and one that is often disregarded. Remember that we best support others in their personal empowerment by letting them deal with their unique challenges and discover their own solutions.
Honour the agreed starting time and length of meeting (approx.2 hours). Notify your group facilitator if you will be late or absent from a meeting.
Honour the confidentiality of personal matters brought up during meetings.
Promoting Your Study Group
It could be said that with material such as The Way of the Heart, many are called, but few respond. The truth is that people respond when they are ready, and at some level willing to surrender to something higher than the ego-mind. Many people come into contact with The Way of the Heart material and immediately experience a strong connection with the words and a knowing that they desire more of this in their lives.
You need do very little to “promote” your group to people. It is more important to live with clear intent and simply allow Spirit to live through you.
Don’t be surprised if people connect with your group through unusual ways, or hear about your group from unconnected sources! Allow the energy to flow through you and allow people to enter or leave the group freely and without judgement.
Flyers can be placed on public noticeboards, in health or spiritual-based stores, or even just given to people you think may be interested. Local newspapers often allow community notices to be published for free and you could list some brief details about your group in this section.
Registered groups will be also promoted via our website.
Suzanne holds her own Study Group, as well as offers advice and support for all the Study Groups in Australia.
